Get ready for 2026! We are going back to the original course, starting at Mainland and ending at McAllister. Still 26.2 miles but more downhill. Records will be broken!
In celebration of the great Howard Peak Greenway System, you and your team can cover 26.2 miles of this beautiful, scenic, shaded course that explores the many parks along the Leon and Salado creeks at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in San Antonio. You can have a minimum of 2 and up to 5 runners per team and there are several categories for you to compete against other teams. This is a point-to-point course and each leg of the marathon relay explores a different section of the Greenway trails. There are 5 Relay Legs and they range from 4.5 to 6.5 miles in length, so you will have to strategize on which of your runners to put on which leg.
The race starts at the Mainland Trailhead off Bandera Road. The first relay handoff (Relay 1) is Fox Park trailhead. Relay 2 is at The Rim Trailhead, and Relay 3 is at the 1604 Trailhead. Relay 4 (the handoff to the last runner) is at Walker Ranch park. The race ends at the McAllister Dog park trailhead where a celebration and medals will be waiting for your team. Complete map and instructions will be provided to each team.
If you have never participated in a point-to-point relay before, you are in for quite the adventure. Part of the fun is making sure your runners get to their relay points on time and then meeting your last runner at the finish line to celebrate as a team. So pick your team carefully. Runners of all abilities are welcome. (Must be at least 14 years old to participate.)
