CELEBRATE Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the 12th Annual Dia de los Muertos 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run at Hernandez Elementary School on 333 Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos. This 5K celebrates an annual holiday observed around the world by many cultures. The Dia de los Muertos 5K event proceeds will be allocated to the Johnnie T. Rosales Memorial Scholarship (http://johnniejam.org), 501C3 nonprofit organization which awards annual scholarships awards to selected San Marcos High School graduation seniors.
In keeping with event tradition the late Dr. James F. "Jim" Garber will be honored posthumously for his many years of service to the San Marcos community and as a long time Texas State University educator

Sponsor a MEMORY BOARD for display at the race in honor of a loved one who has passed, or place their name and photo on this year's Day of the Dead altar.
